| The platform has been
painted Chinese red and aged to give it
an antique look. The legs and trim of
the headboard are gilded and aged to appear
a century old.
A primarily red fabric is used for the
cushion. The muted gold braid around the
pillow edge complements the headboard
gilding. A tassel comes through a Chinese
coin on each corner. These tassels are
attached by a snap so they can be taken
off when the cushion needs to be cleaned.
Wondering what the Chinese symbol on
the headboard means? It is the ancient
symbol for "dog"! Of course,
for the cat owner, this can be changed
to the symbol for "cat".
